Special Packages
At Somerset House we are happy to accommodate you and your guests for any number of special occasions. It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day for a romantic weekend, a birthday to celebrate, an anniversary to remember, or Mother's Day to honor your mother. Any weekend can become an unforgettable delight! A couple days off in mid-week and brighten a hectic schedule.
Look over our special packages, but don't be limited by the offerings. We would be more than happy to set up an package designed just for you. Many of these packages must be booked at least two weeks in advance, but feel free to call and check for availability.
Somerset House can offer a variety of catering options from box lunches, seated luncheons in the garden or dining room, formal dinners, cocktail parties, and wedding receptions. Please contact us for a custom proposal.
Romantic Getaways
Nothing is more romantic than to sneak away with someone special and be pampered and treated royally. Experience this romantic interlude that includes:

Expecting parents could use a romantic getaway before the big arrival. This babymoon gives the couple a chance to focus on each other and reconnect. Spa Retreat
Indulge yourself with a day at the Salon@Somerset Spa, just across the street from Somerset House. This is a perfect package for you or you with friends to get away from your hectic schedule and relax. Upon arrival you will be greeted with wine and cheese. The next day you will spend the day in a premier new spa with all the luxuries you can imagine. That evening enjoy dinner in one of the fine area restaurants. This offering includes:
- Two nights at Somerset House
- Full Eastern Shore breakfast each morning
- Complimentary wine and cheese upon arrival
- Full-day spa visit for two people including therapeutic massages, spa manicure and pedicure, make-over (hair and make-up) (Please note that other services are available and can be booked in advance; call for details.)

Genealogy Package
Explore your roots on the Eastern Shore in the comfort and luxury of our historic home. Right across the street from the Somerset Herald’s archives and other county records, and within easy walking distance from two historic cemeteries, Somerset House (listed on the National Registry of Historic Places) is an ideal place to do your own family research. Consultation with professionals from the Nabb Center at Salisbury University, just 15 minutes away will be available to assist you. This package includes:

- Professional consultation at Nabb Center
Mid-week only $300
Shakespeare Weekend
Frustrated actors? Lovers of the Bard? or just plain hams? Here's an opportunity to meet the needs for all of the above. Gather ten likely souls with similar Shakespeare affinities for a dramatic week-end reading of a favorite play. It isn't necessary to be a union member or even have a background in elementary school plays to enjoy a reading. And you will find Shakespeare more enjoyable than you did in high school.
Arrive on Friday night to get your roles and plan your costumes (optional, of course). Then on Saturday enjoy the attractions of the shore, be they beaches, biking, kayaking, or just relaxing; then come back around 4 p. m. for YOUR production. You and your friends will do a reading of the play of your choice accompanied by appetizers and wine. At the intermission, you will be provided with a full dinner, and after the play, dessert. You decide on up to ten friends to invite; book your rooms and we will provide the rest, including invitations, food, wine, and any drama you might need. Recent plays presented have included The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest. You choose the play and the actors and we will provide the rest.

Meetings and Retreats that bring people together
Take advantage of the gracious public areas for retreats or meetings for your group of thirty or less. In addition to accommodations at Somerset House, ten rooms are available within easy walking distance. Formal and informal meeting areas are available in the elegant historic rooms. Drinks, snacks, and food can be arranged at a reasonable cost. WiFi in all rooms can be enhanced with other technology, as needed. Please contact us for prices and individual arrangements.
Smith Island Cakes
Let us make arrangements for you to take home an authentic Maryland State Dessert, the ten-layer Smith Island Cake. Originally created for the watermen, this cake with its ten layers and icing galore stays fresh even when the crabbers or oystermen were out of the bay for a week, and now it is available for you to take home. Baked by a Smith Island native and carefully packed, it is available as yellow cake with chocolate icing, lemon, orange, or the ever popular banana. Let us know a week in advance of your visit if you are interested.
